Quality Upgrading of the Manufacturing Industry in Supply-Side Structural Reformation

Zhang Gang

Strategic Study of CAE 2017, Volume 19, Issue 3,   Pages 29-38 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2017.03.005

Abstract:

Quality in manufacturing reflects the core competitiveness of enterprises and industries and the national comprehensive strength. This paper focuses on the main direction of supply-side structural reform, analyzes the role of manufactural quality upgrading in processing impetus to industrial transformation, optimizing the employment structure, promoting coordinated economic development, and building the national brand. The author maintains that quality, which covers aspects of both hard power and soft power, should be strengthened like science and technology and education, granted with comprehensive status. Based on the concept of "Big Quality", six aspects of accelerating reform in manufactural quality upgrading are put forward: set goals of engaging quality with efficiency, create new methods for industrial structure analysis of quality dimensions, build new advantages of national quality infrastructure, implement major projects for quality upgrading, innovate the law and policy systems of quality upgrading, and strengthen the work system of "Big Quality".

Strategic Study of CAE 2008, Volume 10, Issue 2,   Pages 4-6

Abstract:

Agricultural science and technology plays a key role in the construc tion of modern agriculture. The connotations and main characters of modern agric ulture in the 21st century were introduced in this paper. The author broug ht forward that the agricultural science and technology innovation was one of the stro ngest supporters to the agricultural development. It is necessary for the agricu ltural development and for the service of “San Nong” that the agricultural sci ence and technology system should be reformed.

How to Continue the Medical Reformation

Li Lianda

Strategic Study of CAE 2006, Volume 8, Issue 8,   Pages 12-14

Abstract:

A summing-up of medical reform is made as follows, a. The objective of medical reform should be definite, b. The quality of health system should be definite, too. c. There are a series of bad consequence in the marketed medical system, such as medical treatment abuses, deteriorated doctor-patient relationship and medical staff's social image, ect. d. How should China deal with medical reform now? The successful standard of medical reform should be to make the government, the people and the health workers all satisfied. According to these reasons, some suggestions have been given for reference.

Life-cycle analysis of energy use and greenhouse gas emissions of gas-to-liquid fuel pathway from steel mill

Xunmin OU, Xu ZHANG, Qian ZHANG, Xiliang ZHANG

Frontiers in Energy 2013, Volume 7, Issue 3,   Pages 263-270 doi: 10.1007/s11708-013-0263-9

Abstract: The LanzaTech process can convert carbon monoxide-containing gases produced by industries, such as steel manufacturing, into valuable fuel products. The life-cycle analysis (LCA) of energy use and greenhouse gas emissions from the LanzaTech process has been developed for a Chinese setting using the original Tsinghua China Automotive LCA model along with a customized module developed principally for the process. The LCA results demonstrate that LanzaTech gas-to-liquid (GTL) processing in China’s steel manufacturing is favorable in terms of life-cycle fossil energy and can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 50% compared with the conventional petroleum gasoline. The LanzaTech process, therefore, shows advantages in both energy-savings and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions when compared with most bio-ethanol production pathways in China.

A novel approach to minimizing material loss for computer numerical control flank-regrinding of worn end mills

Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering 2023, Volume 18, Issue 3, doi: 10.1007/s11465-023-0757-z

Abstract: Flanks of end mills are prone to wear in a long machining process. Regrinding is widely used in workshops to restore the flank to an original-like state. However, the traditional method involves material waste by trial and error and dramatically decreases the potential regrinding. Moreover, over-cut would happen to the flutes of worn cutters in the regrinding processes because of improper wheel path. This study presented a new approach to planning the wheel path for regrinding worn end mills to minimize material loss and recover the over-cut. In planning, a scaling method was developed to determine the maximum size of the new cutter according to the similarity of cutter shapes before and after regrinding. Then, the wheel path is first generated by envelope theory to regrind the worn area with a four-axis computer numerical control grinder according to the new size of cutters. Moreover, a second regrinding strategy is applied to recover the flute shape over-cut in the first grinding. Finally, the proposed method is verified by an experiment. Results showed that the proposed approach could save 25% of cutter material compared with the traditional method and ensure at least three regrinding times. This work effectively provides a general regrinding solution for the worn flank with maximum material-saving and regrinding period.
